Green Light-Go: Pennsylvania's Municipal Signal Partnership Program, also known as the "Green Light-Go Program", provides state funds for the operation and maintenance of traffic signals along critical and designated corridors on state highways. The program is designed to improve safety and mobility by reducing congestion and improving the efficiency of existing traffic signals. The Borough of Sewickley Grant will have an Adaptive Signal Control System installed at three locations along State Route 65 - Ohio River Boulevard - one at Chestnut Street, one at Broad Street, and one at Walnut Street. The Borough received a 50% grant from PennDOT for the installation. This new technology replaces the loops in the ground with an Acknowledgement System that detects cars on the ground which in turn improves traffic flow and makes it more efficient.
