The Traveling Glass Recycling Bin will be at Sewickley Riverfront Park (357 Chadwick Street) from Saturday, September 25 - Thursday, September 30 - 7 a.m. - sundown daily. What to expect:
The event is contact free and self-serve. Volunteers and staff will NOT be available to deposit your glass for you. Anticipate having to deposit containers into the bin yourself (about 4 feet off the ground).
- All colors of glass bottles, jars and jugs ONLY are accepted
- Caps, lids and labels are acceptable
- Empty all containers
- Any boxes bags, etc. that were used to carry the glass must be taken off site for disposal. Please take your containers or bags home for disposal or reuse.
- PRC will monitor sites remotely at all times and will make regular maintenance visits throughout the week.
The following items are NOT acceptable:
- Cut glass
- Glass bakeware
- Mirrors
- Porcelain and ceramic
- Stemware
- Light bulbs
- TVs
- Window glass
- All other materials including recyclables
Feel good about recycling properly because glass from separated collections will be back on your store shelves in just a few months!
