Highlights of the Council Meeting

Sewickley Borough Administration Building Resize

  • Council appointed Michelle Denk, of 613 Maple Lane, to Council as the Ward III Councilperson to complete the term of Bill Cornman until December 31, 2019.
  • Council adopted Borough of Sewickley Resolution No. 2018-011, approving a 5 year Contract with the Sewickley Police Department.
  • Council adopted Borough of Sewickley Resolution No. 2018-012, approving an updated Investment Policy for Borough Pensions.
  • Council approved June 22, 2019 for the Juneteenth Event on Chadwick Street.
  • Council heard from citizens on Nevin Avenue and Hopkins Streets regarding speeding of vehicles, property maintenance issues and illegal activity in the area.  Council indicated there would be an increase in Police Patrols.
  • Council appointed Dave Parker to the Borough of Sewickley Shade Tree Commission.
  • Council approved the 2019 Meeting Schedules for Council, Boards and Commissions.
  • Council approved the 2019 Minimum Pension Obligation (MMO) for the Borough of Sewickley Pensions as prepared by the actuaries, Findley.   The Borough of Sewickley Pension Funds are 101% funded.
  • Council reviewed correspondence indicating that Sewickley Borough will be on cover of Winter Edition of the Municipal Reporter Magazine.
  • Council reviewed Department Head Budget Presentations for the 2019 Budget.
  • Council on Saturday, October 6, at 7:30 a.m. will hold a public Budget Meeting to prepare and adopt the tentative 2019 Budget.
