Banner Application Fee Increase and Additional Changes

Banner App

The cost for the placement of a banner above public streets in Sewickley has increased for 2018.  The Borough of Sewickley has adopted Resolution No. 2017-013 which increases the Banner Permit Fee to $250.00.  This fee is nonrefundable.

Due to several incidents of weather and wind damage to banners, we have made changes to our rules for displaying banners above public streets in The Borough of Sewickley.  The changes are as follows:

  • Our preference will be to erect and/or remove banners on Sundays when there is less traffic.
  • The time span for banners will be approximately 14 days before a scheduled event.  We will do our best to accommodate that time frame.
  • Only certain banner sizes will be accommodated at certain locations.  Please keep this informtion in mind when creating your banners and determining where to place them.
    • Only 24 foot banners will be accommodated at the Broad St., and Bank St. and the Broad St. and School St. locations.
    • Only 18 foot banners are used at Beaver St. and Locust Pl. and the Beaver St. and Logan St. locations.
  • Wind cuts/circle holes with flaps must be on the banner to help minimize wind damage to the banner.
  • The rope needed to hang the banner must be braided polypropylene, 3/8 inches minimum diameter x 120 feet long.

For your convenience, the banner application can be found on the Borough’s website at  The application should be completed and returned to the Borough Manager’s office along with a check for the fee, a current certificate of insurance and 120 foot rope (required to hang the banner).

If you have any questions, please contact the Borough Office at 412-741-4015.
